The Yarmouth Area Industrial Commission is a cooperative effort involving the Town of Yarmouth, the Municipality of the
District of Yarmouth, and the Municipality of Argyle. Each municipal unit nominates four members, either members of Council
or volunteers from the community at large, to sit as directors of the Commission.
To promote and facilitate economic activity and job opportunities in Yarmouth County;
To broaden and strengthen the diversity of Yarmouth County's economic base;
To increase Yarmouth County Business' commercial/industrial potential;
To help those involved in training and retraining the work force;
To facilitate business networking, technology transfers, joint ventures, relocations, trade and investment opportunities;
To aid entrepreneurs and start-up businesses; and
To assist in coordinating the activities of various agencies involved in economic development in Yarmouth County.
